If you are interested in purchasing Katahdins for breeding, weed management, 4H projects, or meat, we have several different options. Give us a call to discuss pricing, packages and possible delivery.
Whether you are looking for Registered or Commercial Rams, we can provide you with several to chose from. Using Katahdin rams on commercial wooled ewes can be a good way to move towards that low maintenance herd.
The Katahdin can be used in crossbreeding programs. When crossed with wool sheep, the first generation offspring will in most cases have wool fleeces with hair intersperse. It usually takes at least 3 generations, depending on the type of wool sheep parentage, to obtain offspring with a shedding hair coat and other purebred characteristics.
Ask about our Ram Leasing Service. Depending on availability we may have leasable rams (for approved herds only). Maintaining a ram may not be convienient depending on your pasture situation. Leasing a ram for breeding season may make it possible for you to keep a small herd of ewes. It is also an option that allows you to keep your ewe lambs each year to build your herd without having to buy a new ram each year.
We will periodically have Registered and Commercial Ewes for sale. Contact us for availability.
Whether you are looking for one grass fed, hormone-free freezer lamb for your family to enjoy or a large number feeder lambs, we'd be happy to help.
Lambs produce a high quality, well-muscled carcass that is naturally lean and consistently offers a very mild flavor. Lambs are comparable to other medium-sized maternal breeds in growth and cutability. Lambs are desirable for specialty markets at a variety of ages and weights, wethers are appropriate for conventional North American markets at 95 to 115 pounds.
**For the resturant owner lambs can be delivered to a meat processor willing to certify the meat for use in your business. Call to discuss local options.**
If you are just getting started in the sheep business, we'll make it easy for you to get your sheep herd started. Starter herds consist of 3 to 6 ewe lambs and an unrelated ram lamb. Animals can be either registered or commecial depending on your goals.

Having gotten a lot of advice and assistance when we diversified our ranch's production by including sheep, we would love to help others learn more about Katahdins or sheep in general. Give us a call to discuss your plans for diversification or your next hobby farm endeavor and how we can help.
